While many professionals in the communications and marketing world specialize in either written or visual projects, I have built a successful career excelling in both, with 70 industry awards in writing, photography and marketing to show for it. Those pursuits share equal parts of my professional identity, and this blend of skills makes me uniquely able to manage a range of creative projects.

 

My experience includes brand development, strategic marketing, website project management, social media development, feature writing, blogging, advertising copywriting and photography, travel writing and photography, portraiture, event photography, public relations projects, speech writing, ghostwriting, and more. 

 

My industry awards are on state, national, and international levels, including from prestigious organizations like Trade Associations Business Publications International (TABPI), Western Publishing (Maggie), American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE), the Minnesota Newspaper Association, Independent Free Papers of North America, Upper Midwest Convention and Visitor Bureaus and Explore Minnesota Tourism. I have been named Minnesota's Travel Writer of the Year and earned the Explore Minnesota Tourism Marketing Excellence Award three times. In 2019, I won the McDaniel Bureau Marketing Innovation Award from the Upper Midwest Convention and Visitor Bureau and was given the inaugural Tourism Trailblazer Award from Explore Minnesota Tourism.
